Placecube announced that Porism became a wholly owned subsidiary following its acquisition of the Porism business.
Porism is a well-established, UK based, software development and consultancy company. It started trading in 1989 and has been managed by the founder, Mike Thacker, since then. Porism specialises in open data services and standards. Porism fits well within Placecube as both companies work primarily for the public sector, especially in local government.
Thacker explained “I believe that selling the company to Placecube ensures smooth continuation of the business and provides opportunities for growth, both in the services we provide, and to our team. I have no doubt that existing Porism contracts and projects will continue to be delivered with the care and professionalism that our clients have come to expect. I look forward to working with the Placecube team.”
Jason Fahy, Chief Executive at Placecube commented on the acquisition “We’re thrilled to welcome the Porism team, and clients into Placecube. The two businesses have extensive experience of working with the public sector and share common customers, through several collaborative projects. The Porism team provides new, complementary, skills and services to Placecube, and in particular the introduction of data services to our place-based service platform. We are excited at the opportunity to co-create services with our clients.”
